Though I grew up as a print journalist, Radio and TV always beckoned me since the time I was studying journalism in Panjab University, Chandigarh. At Day & Night News, besides routine shows and programs, I hosted two weekly shows, “Fair & Square with Kanwar Sandhu”,an interview based-show, & “Defenceline”, a discussion on matters military. Later hosted a weekly interview based program, The Kanwar Sandhu Show” at Global Punjab TV. The nine-part documentary, “Operation Blue Star, The Untold Story by Kanwar Sandhu” is a pioneering work on the 1984 military action at the Harimandir Sahib, which rankles to this day. The one-hour documentary film, “Ik Nasoor” is a chilling eye-witness account of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence in Delhi and elsewhere. At FMI, produced a six-part series on “Confessions of Punjab Police Cop” on blatant human rights violations by police during militancy in Punjab. At FMI, the daily video blogs on current issues of Punjab (Kanwar sandhu My View Point) was a trailblazer of its own kind. From 2013 onwards, I hosted a call-in TV show (Hello North America) on Day & Night TV & Global Punjab TV. Later the same was called “Kanwar Sandhu Live” on Garv TV and then Baaz TV for Punjabi NRIs living abroad.
